Coin Tavern First Campaign Clear
Build a readable field, pay rising debt, and finish the main climb before chasing Endless or perfect tier lists.
Your first Coin Tavern win is a main campaign clear, not an Endless high score. Woven Dream Isle’s full Steam release (July 23, 2026) advertises roughly 164 coins, 204 relics, 16 gems, and eight modes. That variety is inspiring — and distracting. Read Game Modes before copying a creator’s stage count from the wrong theme. This guide keeps the job narrow: leave each stage with debt paid, a field you can still read, and a Bag that refills useful work when the board thins.
Endless Mode unlocks after the main campaign gate. Achievements such as entering Endless for the first time wait on that clear. Chase Collection and Endless after you have one campaign win, not before.
Before You Flip: Mode and Goal
At run start, answer four questions from the UI you actually see:
- How many stages does this selected mode show? Do not copy a stage count from another theme or creator video.
- Which exclusive coins can appear here? An engine that needs an absent exclusive is not a plan.
- What difficulty modifier is printed? Choose the lower unlocked requirement while learning trigger order; raise it after a clear. Patch 1.0.04 made difficulty 1 slightly tighter — see Game Modes for unlock habits.
- What unlock are you pursuing? If the answer is Endless, your first job is still the campaign clear.
Then open How to Play if the debt loop is still fuzzy, and Beginner Tips for thin-deck habits.
Build the Field Before Debt Rises
Official media separates Field Coins from Bag Coins. When the field falls below 20 coins, Bag coins are added automatically. That rule turns add, remove, transform, and destroy effects into deck-control decisions, not isolated value spikes.
First-win priorities on the field:
- Every important coin has a legal target when its trigger fires
- The Bag holds fuel, starters, and payoffs — not only filler that will refill dead weight later
- You can name the job of the next coin you add: fuel, starter, payoff, or cut candidate
Before adding another coin, decide its role. Filler in the Bag lowers the quality of later automatic refills. After a transformation, check the original coin’s next-round state — Patch 1.0.05 fixed Tanuki’s face value not resetting after transformation ended. Details live on Patch Notes and Field and Bag.
Treat the Debt Bar as a Test
Each stage opens with a dollar gap between cash on hand and the target. Use that gap as a live exam:
- If the gap is readable and one conservative round covers it, shop for one named weakness — missing cleanup, missing starter, or missing payoff — not for every shiny rare
- If the gap is opaque, stop theory-crafting and flip safe payout coins until the math becomes boring
- Over-clear only when ahead; greed before first clear is how tavern nights end early
How to Beat Stages deepens forecasting. Shop and Tickets covers when to spend tickets and hammers without bankrupting payment.
Relics and Gems Must Join the Same Schedule
With ~204 relics and a gem layer in the full release, no first-clear route can promise one fixed draft. A useful relic or gem is one that improves the engine you can already demonstrate on the current field.
Example framing from official media (verify wording in your client):
- Growth Gem style effects that raise value at stage start are immediate and predictable
- Round-end repeaters (such as Machine-oriented engineer effects) fire on a different schedule
- Do not call both “scaling” and assume they multiply each other
After Patch 1.0.05, timing discipline matters more:
- Magic Mirror lasts one round — cash it this stage
- Devotion Gem resolves before the round begins
- Avoid pre-patch assumptions about Clay Giant plus Double Gem growth
Cross-check Gems, Relic Synergies, and Patch Notes.
Faction Anchor for Run One
Pick one faction identity early — Humans for baseline income, Machines for reflip ladders, Beasts for spawn chains, Monsters for convert-and-cash spikes — then add one complementary bridge. Pure splash of all four factions delays learning. Coins and How to Combo explain each family’s rhythm; Best Builds offers shells after you understand why they work.
First-Clear Readiness Checklist
You are ready for a campaign push when:
- Each stage begins with a readable dollar gap
- Every important coin has a legal field target
- The Bag refills useful jobs when the field dips below 20
- The shop repairs one named weakness instead of collecting souvenirs
- Relic and gem picks amplify what already fires on the board
Endless Mode can wait. The same trigger map becomes more valuable there than any launch-week tier list. When you return for Endless climbs, Collection and Endless and Tier List help stretch the engine — after the first win is secured.
After the Clear
Celebrate, then:
- Check Steam achievements — Patch 1.0.04 fixed some campaign-clear registration issues
- Unlock Endless when the menu allows and try a short climb
- Skim What’s New before your next long session in case timing patches landed
Use the Deck Planner to jot the field roles that carried the win so the next run starts with a plan, not nostalgia.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What counts as a first win in Coin Tavern?
Clearing the main campaign in your selected mode. Endless Mode unlocks after that campaign gate — it is a follow-up goal, not the first win.
Why does my field suddenly fill with Bag coins?
When the field drops below 20 coins, Bag coins are added automatically. Keep useful roles in the Bag so refills help instead of dilute.
Should I optimise for Endless on run one?
No. Finish the campaign first. Endless achievements and long climbs assume that unlock.
Which relics should I take for a first clear?
Ones that improve the engine already visible on your field — consistency, extra flips, or payoff amplifiers — not speculative multi-stage fantasies.
Did patches change first-win advice?
Yes. Patch 1.0.04 tightened difficulty 1 and fixed campaign-clear achievement registration. Patch 1.0.05 shortened Magic Mirror to one round and moved Devotion Gem earlier. See Game Modes and Patch Notes.
How many coins and relics are in the full game?
Launch messaging cites roughly 164 coins and 204 relics across eight modes. Demo totals were smaller partial slices.
